Forecaster Frank's College Six Picks
WEEK 2
Penn State 41 Pittsburgh 17
Fans in Happy Valley are dreaming of Roses as the Nittany Lions lit up Akron 52-0 in their opener last week. Penn State was a surprise winner of the Big Ten last season, and appear to be even better this season. One of Penn State's only losses last year came at Heinz Field against Pittsburgh. The Panthers have questions to answer this year with a young inexperienced team that needed overtime to beat Youngstown State from the FCS. Look for Penn State to come out strong at home and send a message that they are not only in play for the Roses but National Championship Contender as well.

Auburn 20 Clemson 17
The defending National Champion Clemson Tigers face their first test as they face #13 Auburn in Death Valley. Last season Clemson launched their title run with a 19-13 win on the road. In their first game, last week Clemson barely broke a sweat while beating Kent State 56-3. Auburn has much more talent than Kent State, and themselves could make a run at the National Championship this season. With both teams having solid defenses, this game will come down to who has more weapons on offense. Looking at the Auburn team they have players that can open it up like Kerryon Johnson and Kam Martin and players that can pound the ball like Kamryn Pettway. That will be the difference as they get pay back at Clemson.
Georgia 30 Notre Dame 24
Coming off a 4-8 season, Notre Dame did what they had to do last week beating Temple in impressive fashion 49-16. Josh Adams and Dexter Williams each ran for 100 yards to take the pressure Quarterback Brandon Wimbush who was making his first start. Georgia comes in slightly hobbled starting Quarterback Jacob Eason is out with a sprained knee. However, with Nick Chubb in the backfield, the Bulldogs hold a significant edge in their first ever trip to South Bend. The Irish are certainly a better team than they were last season, but against the elite class which Georgia is a part of they will have a tough time getting a win.

Ohio State 31 Oklahoma 16
Baker Mayfield threw his hat in the ring for the Heisman Trophy with an impressive performance in the Sooners season opener against UTEP. If people are to take his candidacy seriously a strong performance at Horseshoe in Columbus will go a long way. Ohio State started their season with a tough conference road game against Indiana. After trailing in the third quarter, the Buckeyes exploded in the second half with J.T. Barrett accounting for 365 yards. That type of explosiveness will be the reason Ohio State wins this game as Barrett along with Freshman Running back J.K. Dobbins give them too many weapons for Oklahoma to handle.

USC 38 Stanford 20
Many experts believe USC Quarterback Sam Darnold is the best pure passer in NCAA as he is projected already to be the first overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. However, in the Trojans' season opener against Western Michigan Darnold was shaky at times, as the game was tied midway through the fourth quarter. If USC is to win against Stanford they must play better. Both of these teams will be among the best teams in the Pac-12 Conference with an excellent shot at the Rose Bowl. The Cardinal crushed Rice in their opener, but have never fared well at the Coliseum. Look for a sharper performance by Sam Darnold as USC silences the critics for at least one week.

Washington State 34 Boise State 30
Mike Leach has helped make Washington State respectable once again as they are a Top 25 team coming off two straight bowl appearances. Boise State has been the little team that could for more than a decade out in the Mountain West Conference. In most seasons, the Broncos are a legitimate threat against teams from the power five conferences. The Cougars though won't be caught by surprise as their Eastern Washington campus make them a good natural rival for Boise State. Last year on the Blue Turf Boise State won by a field goal, with this year's game in Pullman expect Wazzu to answer back winning a game that will be just as close, with Luke Falk leading the way at quarterback.
