Forecaster Frank's College Six Picks
WEEK 8
Texas Tech 27 Iowa State 23
Iowa State is flying high after stunning upset in Norman two weeks ago, following up with a win over Kansas, the Cyclones are looking to crack the Top 25 with a win over Texas Tech in Lubbock. However, the Red Raiders are no pushover like the Jayhawks and are looking to prove they belong in the rankings themselves. Iowa State is a pesky team, but Texas Tech is a legitimate team with a ball-hawking defense that leads the Big XII in turnovers. Look for Texas Tech to get a big interception to seal the win late.

Alabama 61 Tennessee 0
At this point, it's hard to tell what Volunteer fans want to happen on Saturday in Tuscaloosa. Do they want a competitive effort from Tennessee to help renew sagging hopes for the rest of the season, or do they want another embarrassment so embattled coach Butch Jones moves closer to facing the ax? It is clear all is not well in Knoxville as fans are brawling and Tennessee is struggling, like a wounded animal they face #1 Alabama, who has shown no mercy to anybody. Hide the woman and children.

Miami 30 Syracuse 24
Coming off an upset of #2 Clemson, Syracuse is flying high and having their fans dreaming of a revitalized Orange program. Meanwhile, fans in Coral Gables are dreaming of the same revival for the U, as Miami comes into this game 5-0. This one should be close as Eric Dungey has been terrific. Meanwhile, Malik Rosier has been clutch pulling games out in the final seconds each of the last two weeks. Look for more Rosier magic as the Hurricanes win another close one.

Notre Dame 34 USC 30
This is the game where Notre Dame needs to step up and prove it belongs in the Top 10. After a disappointing 4-8 season in 2016, the Irish have been terrific in 2017, with a 5-1 record in their first six games. Facing archrival USC, Notre Dame is coming off a much-needed bye, as it allowed their banged-up quarterback Brandon Wimbush to rest. The Trojans run defense has not exactly been able to stop anybody, which could set up a big day for Josh Adams. Look for Notre Dame to get the win as Adams and Wimbush have a big day on the ground overcoming Sam Darnold's aerial show.

-3½
Penn State 27 Michigan 13
Despite their 5-1 record, Michigan Has struggled to move the ball all season. Fortunately, against a fairly light schedule, the Wolverines defense has been able to keep them in the game to get the win most weeks. Facing Penn State and their Heisman front-runner Saquon Barkley in Happy Valley, the Wolverines are going to have to get their offense going. Michigan may be able to keep the game close for a while, but when the fourth quarter rolls around, look for Barkley to break it open as the Nittany Lions stay unbeaten.

-9½
Washington State 37 Colorado 17
A letdown was bound to happen for Washington State, especially after their upset win over USC. It's just the ugliness of their 37-7 loss in Berkeley is what is shocking for the Cougars, as Luke Falk was beaten up by an aggressive California pass rush. Coming to home Wazzu plays a Colorado defense that has struggled all season against big passers. Look for Falk to bounce back in a big way as Washington State cruises against Colorado.
