Forecaster Frank's College Six Picks
WEEK 5
Boston College 30 Wake Forrest 27
Boston College bounced back from their embarrassing home loss to Kansas by beating lowly Rutgers last week. Wake Forest meanwhile has won their first four games, though they have yet to face a real test. The Eagles collapse against Kansas may be one of the most confounding games of the season as they always played well at Chestnut Hill. Both teams are similar in that neither will make a run at any championship, but can get a good win here and there. Look for BC to slow the game down and use their rushing attack to control the clock. Boston College will get a big game from Cam Akers who has six touchdowns already to win the game.

Notre Dame 24 Virginia 20
Notre Dame did not beat Georgia between the hedges, but left the game, with their heads held high, as they had a chance to beat the number three team in the nation in the final minutes. Back home, they have to be on the guard as they face a tough team from Virginia. The Cavaliers come into the game ranked #18 and unbeaten. Virginia knows a win in South Bend would get them national attention and propel them toward the Top Ten. The Irish will a big game from Ian Book, as the Virginian front seven is solid and great at stopping the run. This one will be close, with Notre Dame surviving a scare.
Washington 41 USC 10
USC has overcome a lot of adversity in the early going of the 2019 season, as quarterback JT Daniels was lost to an ACL injury in the opener. The Trojans got strong play from Kedon Slovis to start 3-1. However, now Slovis is sidelined with a concussion, leading them to start Matt Fink on the road against Washington. Even if Daniels were health, USC would have a tough time winning in Seattle, as the Huskies once again are poised to be the top team in the Pac-12. Look for a big game from Jason Eason as the Huskies win this one easily.

Auburn 24 Mississippi State 20
It is hard not to be impressed by what Auburn has done so far this season, as they are 4-0 with true freshman Bo Nix, showing the ability to make the big play when it matters most. Nix has yet to have an explosive game, as the Tigers have faced some strong opponents. Mississippi State does what they seem to do every season as they have started 3-1. The Bulldogs walloped Auburn last season, knocking them out of the Top Ten. The Tigers will be out for revenge at home, but will again be pushed, as Mississippi State will have Auburn fans sweating the entire 60 minutes.

Ohio State 53 Nebraska 17
Nebraska keeps trying to say they are on the road back to greatness, as they hope coach Scott Frost can reawaken the glory days when the Huskers were battling in the Top Five every season. Thus far the road has been marked by potholes, as Nebraska’s defense has been carved up all season. Now facing its biggest test yet, the Game Day Crew is in Lincoln, with fans aching for a signature win. That ache will continue as the Buckeyes come in with an offense that has been explosive all season, last week the scored 42 points in the second quarter alone. The Nebraska secondary will not be able to contain, the passing of Justin Fields. Meanwhile Chase Young will wreak havoc on the Huskers offense with his ability to get after the quarterback.

Oklahoma State 45 Kansas State 30
Big XII games have become symbolized by high scoring games, as up-tempo offenses usually run circles around smaller mismatched defenders. The Cowboys are coming off their first loss of the season, a typical conference battle with Texas they lost 36-30. Kansas State meanwhile is coming in off a bye, as they won their first three games outside the conference, including 31-24 in over Mississippi State. Even in their win in Starkville, the Wildcats defense allowed over 200 yards on the ground. This will not play well in Stillwater, as Okie State loves to run the ball down opponents throats. Look for Chuba Hubbard to have a big night as the Cowboys ride off with a big win.
