Last week the Falcons looked like Super Bowl contenders on the road, while the Bucs looked awful at home. That won’t matter this week because nobody scares Michael Vick more then the Buccaneers, in fact so afraid Vick is of Pirates he has yet to see any of the Pirates of the Caribbean Movies, while just seeking a bottle of Captain Jack makes him freeze with fright.
One team is coming off a home loss in which they were shut out 27-0, the other had a 27-0 road win, now they are reversed and the results will be the same as the Ravens defense has Aaron Brooks, and whoever else the Raiders can find on the ground again and again as Randy Moss begins to let his frustrations boil over.
Last week the Lions defense held the Seahawks without a TD at home, but lost as they only managed two TDs themselves. This week against the Bears, their defense will play strong again, but watch helplessly as the Bears defense scores a TD against the Lions offense, as they lose by three touchdowns.
The Browns won’t win this game but they won’t go down without a fight, never underestimate excitement in the battle of Ohio. Look for a big game from Carson Palmer again, while the Browns start to rely heavily on Kellen Winslow II, who begins to show his promise.
Last year against the Saints at home the Packers played their best game of the year winning 51-3. No way should they be home dogs this year, no matter how bad Brett Favre plays. Look for the old Brett Favre to show some flashes as the Packer win going away again.
After the Manning bowl the Colts come home and begin the hunt for the Super Bowl look for Peyton Manning to have a big game as the Texans defense begins to resemble Swiss Cheese.
After a bad 4th Quarter losing to the Steelers in the season opener the Dolphins come home and take advantage of a bad Bills team, with Daunte Culpepper charged up from the home fans to have a big day look for the Dolphins to start rolling up in the 3rd Quarter as they keep it rollin’ the rest of the way.
The Panthers coming off a bad home loss will hit the road and respond like champions as the hammer the Vikings. Look for big games from the Panthers defense as they shut down Brad Johnson, while Keyshawn Johnson has a big game in the place of the injured Steve Smith.
This should be a close and exciting through out as the Eagles look to take the early drivers seat in the NFC East, look for a big another game from Donovan McNabb as the game goes back and forth and into overtime, where a long bomb to Donte Stallworth will be the ultimate difference.
The Rams stunned the Broncos at home last week as Jake Plummer looked like Fred the Plummer as the Broncos flushed a game down the toilet, this week they get a cold slap of reality as they leave their unbeaten season in San Francisco, look for another strong game from Alex Smith who seems to have found a go to receiver in rookie TE Vernon Davis.
The Seahawks come home to the home of the 12th man as they raise the banner from their NFC Championship, look for the Seahawks who struggled last week on offense to excel this week as Shaun Alexander explodes for 200 yards and 3 Touchdowns as the Seahawks slam the Cardinals.
Even if the Chiefs had Trent Green they would not have a chance in this game, without him it won’t even be close as the Broncos looking to bounce back make a big statement as Jake Plummer overcomes early boos to put up a solid game and silence the critics at least for one week.
Last week the Patriots had to sweat one out at home against the Bills, this week on the road against the Jets will not be any easier as former Defensive Coordinator Eric Mangini faces his mentor Bill Bellichick. The Chargers defense gets another chance to dominate as they face the terrible Titans who took almost 3 full quarters to get anything going last week at home against the Jets. Look for a big day from LaDainian Tomlinson, as the Chargers have the game well in hand at halftime, allowing just 1 TD by Vince Young late in the game.
Once upon a time Terrell Owens was reviled in Dallas when he “disrespected the star.” Now he wears the star and is the star of the game as the Cowboys win going away against the Redskins who resemble the mess they were in the preseason losing ugly and losing big.
With or without Ben Reothlisberger the Jaguars will win this game, as the Steelers won’t have crowd on their side this week. Look for the Jaguars defense to pond whoever is in there and if the Steelers are smart it won’t be Big Ben who should be given at least one more week to heal especially facing a tough Jaguars defense on the road.
