Capitalizing Opportunities

On Saturday night the Presidents’ Trophy winners from this season, the Florida Panthers traveled to Washington to take on the underdog Capitals.  In what has been a bit of a surprise series thus far in the NHL Playoffs, the Caps won in domineering fashion 6-1.

Washington now leads the series 2-1, taking both games 1 and 3.  Alex Ovechkin and T.J. Oshie both scored on separate power plays, which has been key to the Caps current positive play.

The loss has brought up questions regarding the dreaded,  “Presidents’ Trophy Curse” as the vibe and momentum that Florida once carried, seems to be lost for the time being.  Game 4 will be Monday night, in Washington once again.
