Dueling MVPs

On Saturday afternoon a potential NBA Finals matchup took place in Philadelphia. Reigning 2-time MVP, Nikola Jokic continued his dazzling play, but was out dueled by a strong MVP candidate for this season in Joel Embiid.
Denver led for most of the game, until Embiid took over, racking up 47 points and 18 rebounds, he was virtually unstoppable late in the game. Jokic contributed his usual stellar stat sheet, going for 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists. It wasn’t enough to thwart the 76ers though, as they’ve now won 7 games, and moved within 2.5 games of 1st place Boston within the Atlantic division.
The Nuggets came into the game with the majority of their key players questionable on the injury report. While the likes of Murray, Brown, and Jokic did play, they’ll welcome their up coming 3 game homestand.
As for the 76ers, they’ll feel strong about pushing their win streak to 8 games, as the Magic come to Philly on Monday night.
