Edmonton’s 30 Goal Guy
On Wednesday night The Oilers beat the Capitals in Overtime inside the Rogers Place Arena. The Reigning NHL MVP, Connor McDavid put home the game winning goal early into the extra period. The goal marks McDavid’s 6th straight season scoring at least 30 goals.
The win breaks Edmonton’s three game losing streak. As for the Capitals, Nicklas Backstrom also made history on the night, scoring and assisting to reach the 1,000 point mark in his career. The Caps have struggled this season, finding themselves in 4th place within the Metropolitan currently.
Both teams objectively have talented rosters, but have been unable to play up to their talent level. At 31 wins a piece in the win column, D.C. and Edmonton will be desperate to put together a stretch of victories to make one last playoff push.
