Ending Streaks At Wrigley
On Friday afternoon the struggling Chicago Cubs welcomed the red hot Atlanta Braves to Wrigley Field. Two teams with extensive streaks that both ended after 9 innings.
Chicago squeaked out a 1-0 win vs. the defending World Series Champs, ending their 10 game skid, and simultaneously ending the Braves 14 game winning streak. It’s the first time in 23 years double digit winning and losing streaks have been put to an end within the same game.
Cub’s rookie Christopher Morel had the lone RBI in the game, and veteran reliever David Robertson recorded the save. The 3-game series will continue in the windy city on Saturday afternoon.
