Saturday brought about a full slate of rivalry games within the college football landscape. The biggest being a classic game featuring two opponents with a storied past. Number 3 Michigan went into “The Shoe” and beat number 2 Ohio St. 45-23 in dominate fashion.

It’s the second straight year that Michigan has put their long standing rival away with relative ease. It’s the first time in 22 years that Michigan has knocked off Ohio St. in consecutive seasons. The win sees Michigan play Purdue in the Big10 title game, controlling their own destiny as they look for back to back college football playoff appearances.

The Buckeyes will now await the results of those ahead of them in the rankings, as it looks like they’ll have to settle for another disappointing appearance in the Rose Bowl
