Languishing Lakers Lose 5th Straight
In a game with massive play-in implications, the Pelicans traveled to Los Angeles to take on LeBron and the Lakers.
Currently in the 9 spot within the Western Conference, New Orleans gained a firm grasp on their would-be postseason birth as they beat L.A. 114-111. Even with James and Anthony Davis inserted into the lineup, Los Angeles could not get over the line.
LeBron posted 38 points in the loss, but was outdueled by the more well-rounded team in the Pelicans. C.J. McCollum 32 points, and former Laker, Brandon Ingram chipped in with 29 points. It’s the Lakers 5th straight loss, and the margin to clinch a play-in game spot continues to get narrower.
Los Angeles’ schedule does not let up, as they will now welcome the Nuggets on Sunday.
