Newly acquired at the trade deadline, Jordan Montgomery has won his third straight start for the St. Louis Cardinals. The last place Rockies proved no match for the first place Cards at Busch Stadium. Montgomery gave the home team 5.2 innings only allowing one run, as he continues to look at home in the NL Central.

Nolan Gorman, Cards’ second baseman had two hits and three RBI, as St. Louis’ record now improves to 65-51. The win is their 12th out of 13th at home, and they’ve now taken a 3 game lead over the Brewers within the division.

Adam Wainwright will take the ball on Thursday for a day game, as the Cards look for the sweep vs. Colorado.
