On Thursday night the Penguins traveled to Minnesota, and beat the Wild 4-3 in overtime.  Minnesota had their perfect 7-0 record in overtime games spoiled by Pittsburgh as Evgeni Malkin netted 4 minutes into the extra period for the away team.

The win moves the Penguins one point behind the Rangers in the crowded Metropolitan division.  The Wild remain in 2nd place in the Central Division.  both teams are jockeying for position as the regular season slowly comes to an end.  While Minnesota lost the game, they did show resilience to come back down 3-1, they will attempt to get back into the win column on the road vs. Carolina on Saturday.
