Philly’s Show

On Wednesday night at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, familiar players were pitted up against each other in a heated contest. The James Harden and Ben Simmons trade seems to have lasting effects on both of these teams, and the game became a bit chippy on multiple occasions. In a game that saw a total of 7 technical fouls called, the 76ers were able to maintain their grip of the contest, winning 137-133.

Joel Embiid had 26 points and rebounds, with Tyrese Maxey playing starter’s minutes off the bench, contributing 27 points. The Nets have shown a grit they’ve not had in this current crop of players, but continue to struggle without their star, Kevin Durant. Kyrie Irving’s talent was on full display, as he had a team high 30 points, and 10 assists for Brooklyn.

While they did muster a comeback, the Nets were unable to fully unlock Philly’s lead on the night. Brooklyn’s road trip will continue on a back to back, as they’ll now travel to Detroit to take on the last place Pistons at the Little Caesars Arena.
