On Friday night the Eastern Conference Final continued with the back to back Stanley Cup champs looking to even the series at a game a piece. The Lightning struck early with a Nikita Kucherov goal, but the Rangers answered right back when K’Andre Miller lit the lamp three minutes later.
In a low scoring game, the statistics favored Tampa Bay, except for the the most important stat, the one in the win column. As the Rangers found a way to beat the Lightning 3-2 on the night. The loss breaks Tampa’s streak of 18 playoff games without dropping two games in a row.
The Lightning will now return to Amalie Arena for Game 3 on Sunday afternoon, with their title defense on the line.
