Rodon Rolls, Giants Beat Cubs 4-0

Sunday night baseball lined up the Chicago Cubs looking for a series split at Oracle Park against the Giants. San Francisco had started the All-Star break losing it’s first 7 games, but took the home series with Chicago 3 games to 1, as Carlos Rodon gave Gabe Kapler and the Giants 7 innings, and 10 strikeouts, allowing just 2 hits.

In an oddity that is professional sports, shortstop Dixon Machado was acquired by the Giants from the Cubs on Saturday, and inserted into the San Francisco starting lineup immediately due to injury.

The win has the Giants back into the mix for a Wild Card spot, as they’re 51-51 overall. They will need to put together a run of consistent play to make their All-Star break moves count. Next up for San Francisco is a 4-game home stand against the 1st place Dodgers, setting up a massive NL West series.
