Season Stays Alive As O’s Sweep

On Wednesday at Globe Life Field, the Baltimore Orioles completed their first season series sweep of the Texas Rangers. Baltimore were sellers at the trade deadline, offloading veteran and long tenured star Trey Mancini amongst others. However, the upstart Orioles continued to play together, and find themselves at 54-51, in the middle of a Wild Card race.

Terrin Vavra provided a critical pinch-hit RBI for the away team, giving them the go ahead run. Baltimore will now head back to Camden Yards, welcoming the struggling Pirates for a three game innerleague series. The young and talented Orioles will look at this series as a chance to make up ground on their division foe, the Blue Jays in a chance to clinch a postseason birth.
