Seattle’s Streak Positively Ends

Hits: 1

Cal Raleigh of the Mariners made history on Friday night at T-Mobile Park for all of the right reasons. Becoming the first pinch-hitter to hit a walk-off home run that clinched a playoff birth in MLB history.

Not only did Raleigh’s long ball make history in that sense, it also sent the Mariners to the postseason for the first time since 2001. Seattle’s overall record of 86-70 is good enough for a Wild Card birth, while their opponent remains unknown, they could be a dangerous team in a one-off elimination game.

The good news continues roll in for the Northwest ball club, as their budding star, Julio Rodriguez remains on track to return to the club by Monday, just in time for the Mariner’s hopeful postseason run.
