TCU Topped by KSU
On Saturday afternoon the Big12 Championship game featured undefeated TCU, and three loss Kansas State from Arlington, Texas. In what was a stunning upset, the Kansas State Wildcats defeated the Horned Frogs in overtime, 31-28.
Leading for the majority of the game, Kansas St., had a difficult time holding the lead late, as TCU, QB Max Duggan provided a 4th quarter drive to tie the game, pushing it to the extra period. The Wildcats defense held up in overtime, stopping TCU from converting on their first possession, which then set up the winning field goal for K. State.
The Kansas State win now puts the College Football Playoff into a precarious situation, as Alabama and potentially Ohio St.’s doors are now open to possibly featuring. Time will tell as we await the final seedings before bowl season.
