The week leading up to the Super Bowl is typically a quiet time in the sports world. However, on Wednesday, the greatest quarterback of all time in Tom Brady retired in the second straight offseason. Brady, who is 45 years old, states that this time it’s for good.

After a difficult year on and off the field for the 7-time Super Bowl champ he’s opted to step away from football. With 10 Super Bowl appearances, he’s also the NFL’s leader in passing yards and touchdown passes. The three time MVP is slated to begin work as an NFL analyst with FOX Sports now that he’s hung up his cleats.

With his playing days now behind him, his mark on the league will last forever, as his 23 year career has been nothing short of iconic.
