The Well Runs Dry

Thursday night was a new low for the Edmonton Oilers as they lost their 7th straight game of the season.  The Panthers have been firing on all cylinders at times this year, and last night was another showcase of their talent.  Goalie, Sergei Bobrovsky posted his first shutout since 2019, posting 40 saves.

The Panthers are now 27-8-5, tied with the Lightning for first in the Atlantic Division.  The 6-0 drubbing was a gut punch to Edmonton who showed promise earlier in the year.  At 18-16-2 the Oilers will need to dig deep to get themselves out of the hole they’ve dug for themselves.  They’ll have an opportunity to do so on Saturday as they host Calgary.

As for Florida, they continue to roll, and have eyes on a bigger prize this year, that of a deep playoff run.
