On Friday night to AL East teams in a wild card race faced off at Fenway Park. In what turned out to be a route in favor of Toronto, the Blue Jays hung a crooked number on their divisional foes, beating the Red Sox by a score of 28-5.

Posting a franchise high in runs score, the Blue Jays most memorable moment of the night came when lead off hitter Raimel Tapia hit an improbable inside the park grand slam.

An embarrassing lost by Boston, it’s their most runs ever given up. The previous record was 27 in 1923.

The Blue Jays have not won four in a row, jumping the Red Sox in the standings, but still behind the Rays for second place in the division. The series will continue on Saturday afternoon at Fenway Park
