After an injury-plagued season, O.J. Simpson is traded to the San Francisco 49ers. The Buffalo Bills received five draft picks in return for Simpson, a first-round pick in 1979, the second and third-round pick from the Niners in 1978, and a second and fourth-round pick in 1980. The trade would turn out to be disastrous for San Francisco, as O.J. Simpson played 23 games in two seasons before retiring.
