The Celtics had to win the final two games of the series to reach the Eastern Conference Finals. Both games were tight as they took Game 6 at the Omni 102-100. In Game 7, the Celtics needed to overcome a 47-point game from Dominque Wilkins, as Larry Bird scored 34, and Kevin McHale had 33.
