Bill Tilden continues his dominance of Forest Hills, winning his sixth consecutive U.S. Nationals Championship. Bill Tilden defeated fellow American Bill Johnston in five sets (4-6, 11-9, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3). Tilden was the dominant player of his era, winning eight consecutive major championships, with wins in the 1920 and 1921 Wimbledon. Bill Tilden won a record ten Grand Slam singles before turning professional in 1931.
