NBA Finals

Spurs in 6
It’s Champ vs. Champ as the 2003 NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs face the 2004 NBA Champion Detroit Pistons. It is also a match up of the top two defenses in the NBA as both the Spurs and Pistons are capable of shutting down the top scorers in the league. As they were last year the Pistons are the underdog. However this year things will be different in that the Spurs will not get caught off guard and will not fold under pressure as the Lakers did in last years finals. Though it may not be the sexy match up of superstars the NBA was hoping for all the games should be close, as breaking 90 could be difficult for either team. Look for the difference maker to be Manu Ginobili who in 3 NBA seasons has seemed to raise him game in the playoffs, as he was the big x-factor for the Spurs 2003 Championship, and the 2004 Argentina Gold Medal winning team at the Athens Olympics. Each team is capable of winning a game on the other team’s court. However winning two in San Antonio will be next to impossible for the Pistons as the Spurs are the best home team in the NBA. Look for the Spurs to capture the series in 6 games with Manu Ginobili stepping out of Tim Duncan’s shadow to win the NBA Finals MVP.
