After back to back losses in which they allowed 30 or more points in both games the Falcons are faced with a must win, while their defense needs to make a statement. On Thanksgiving they will do both as they feast on Joey Harrington while Michael Vick passes the stuffing in the endzone.
The Cowboys have been a surprise in the NFC at 7-3 they share a lead for the East. However, they are in the NFC and that means they would not be nearly as good in the AFC. The Broncos are 8-2 and lead the AFC West and against the Cowboys they will show the gap between the conferences.
J.P. Losman has gotten starting job back as Kelly Holcomb suffered a concussion he dose not look any more ready to be their Quarterback then before he was benched. Look for the Panthers coming off a loss to shuffle off to Buffalo angry then shuffle home with a win leaving Losman buried in the turf.
After allowing 45 points to one of the leagues best offenses they rebound by shutting down one of the worst. Look for the Ravens to fail to reach the endzone yet again as the Bengals claw their way through the Rvanes banged up defense on the way to an easy blowout win.
The Texans are 1-9 and not doing fine while the Rams are 4-6 and ready to tip over as their playoff hopes are all but dead. Look for the Texans to come up with a strong game and actually get their second win as the Rams with Jamie Martin playing QB again struggle on the road.
The Patriots defense is struggling badly against a good offense like the Chiefs they will be in trouble as Tony Gonzalez and Larry Johnson are each coming off big games. Look for the Patriots to struggle in Arrowhead as the Chiefs ambush the Patriots and serve up a loss a few days after Thanksgiving.
The Vikings have righted their Love Boat and got back to .500 thanks to the strong play of back up QB Brad Johnson who is 3-0 since taking over for the injured Daunte Culpepper. Look for them to win again. However it will be a struggle as the Browns defense will keep it close.
The Bears are due for a loss and heading to Tampa their run comes to an end as the Buccaneers offense is starting to get hot while the Buccaneers defense is still strong. Look for the Buccaneers to feast on rookie QB Kyle Orton while Cadillac Williams powers the Offense.
Each team is 2-8 and coming off games in which they gave a contender a bit of a scare. The Titans led most of the game before losing to a Field Goal to the Jaguars, while the 49ers came with in a 2-point conversion of tying the Seahawks. This week it will be the Titans that stand with a win as they have the home field edge.
This game could be a struggle for the Chargers who find themselves flying cross country again to face the Redskins. However, the Redskins look like a team ready to fade and yell retreat after losing 3 of their last 4. Look for the game to be close until the 4th Quarter when LT puts it away.
The Jaguars survived a scare last week against the Titans, they won’t be as fortunate this week as they fall behind again, but this time there will be no 4th Quarter rally as the Cardinals playing better as of late gets their second win a row behind QB Kurt Warner who is hitting his stride.
Last week with Sage Rosenfelds at QB the Dolphins offense was a no show, as they were shut out by the Browns. This week going cross country to Oakland it wont get any better as the Dolphins will learn just why a new Quarterback is at the top of their wish list this they will be submitting Santa.
The Packers at 2-8 are in the midst of a lost season; while the Eagles are simply watching their playoffs go up in flames. Look for the Eagles to rebound with a win this week as they will be able to force Brett Favre into a mistake or two, while Back up QB Mike McMahon will have a good enough game to get the win by a Field Goal.
When the Giants face the Chargers on the road earlier this year their defense went home with their tail between their legs. Now it will happen as they go to face the Seahawks and Shaun Alexander who is scoring Touchdowns at will. Look for this one to be over early as the Seahawks continue to rule the NFC.
The Saints return home to Giants Stadium where they played their “home opener” This time things will be different as they will be facing the Paper Airplanes, who have gotten so desperate at QB they actually thought about calling people randomly to take over if Brooks Bollinger and Kliff Clavin err Kingsberry goes down.
The Steelers defense will be able to give the Colts fits, as they traditionally play well on Monday Night. However without a 100% Ben Roethlisberger at QB, and a healthy Jerome Bettis in the backfield it will be hard to imagine them ending the Colts undefeated run. Look for it to be close, but for Mike Vanderjagt to win it at the end.
