The 2020 Cleveland Indians like most of the MLB had a very eventful season due to the Covid pandemic and the season being only 60 games. However one of the biggest moments was on September 22,2022 Jose Ramirez hit a walk-off three run homerrun against the Chicago White Sox to clinch clevelands playoff birth. The playoffs were not pretty for cleveland as they faced the New York Yankees in a best of three series. In game one Shane Beiber, that years Cy Young award winner and pitchers triple crown, gave up nine hits and seven ER over 4 2/3 frame, which led to a Yankee 12-3 win. Game 2 was a flat out thriller Cleveland jumped out to an early 4 1 lead until former cleveland third baseman Gio Urshela hit a majestic grand slam. From then ot was back and forth till a Gary Sanchaz sac fly sealed the deal for New York in the 9th, ending cleveland’s 2020 season. A positive outcome was the breakout of Shane Beiber who won the Cy Young award and the first pitchers triple crown since Joan Santana achieved it in 2006. Shane’s numbers were incredible he was 8 and 1 with a 1.63 ERA. The Indians ended with a record of 35-25.
