Marlins No Match For Mets

Hits: 1

On Thursday night the New York Mets welcomed the Miami Marlins to Citi Field, and properly dispatched their division foe. The Mets have won four of five games, lighting up the Marlins for a 10-0 victory behind a J.D. Davis grand slam, and a James McCann three-run homerun.

Trevor Williams started, and provided seven innings of shutout baseball, only allowing two hits on the night. The Marlins are currently fourth in the NL East, but did come into the series with New York winning six of their last seven showing signs of life in the early season.

However, the Mets were not to be denied as they continue to battle through injuries to remain on top of the division. The series continues Friday with Pablo Lopez getting the nod for the Marlins, and Chris Bassitt scheduled to start for New York.
