Mets Win West Coast Ender

On Sunday evening the Mets played a rubber game with the Angels in LA.  It was New York’s last west coast road game in a 10 game stretch.  Behind a steady performance from Taijuan Walker, who struck out 10, the Mets beat the Angels, 4-1 to take the series.

Jeff McNeil had three hits, and Pete Alonso homered for the away team.  The Angels have struggled to find consistency all season, and with Shohei Ohtani given a rest day, they lacked would-be firepower in the lineup.

The Mets remain in first place in the NL East, with the Braves and Phillies finding their footing, it is arguably the most hotly contested division in all of baseball.  New York will be happy to return to Citi Field, as they begin a 3 game series with the Brewers on Tuesday.
