San Diego Swats Chicago

Hits: 0

The Chicago Cubs’ long rebuild continues in the 2022 season, and last night was a reminder that even their former World Series heroes, like Kyle Hendricks can’t save them.  Hendricks, who started for the Cubs, gave the home team 5 strong innings, giving up only 4 hits and 1 earned run.

However, the windy city squad wasn’t able to hold the lead, as Luke Voit hit two homeruns on the road back to beat Chicago 12-5.  It’s the Cubs 8th straight loss, with San Diego in town for two more games this Wednesday and Thursday, they face the very real possibility of being swept in yet another season this season.

The Padres are now 39-24, as their talent seems to be paying dividends in the win’s column thus far into the early season.  San Diego will travel to Colorado to complete an extended road trip that’s been very positive for the 1st place NL West club.
