2020 NFL Picks Week 9

Packers 34 49ers 13

It is a rematch of the NFC Championship Game from January. The San Francisco 49ers won that game easily. However, coming into this game, the Niners are a mess. Jimmy Garoppolo is injured and could miss significant time. The Niners will also be without George Kittle as the team has been infected by the injury bug. They also could have some COVID issues as their facility was shut down on Wednesday. Coming off a home loss expects the Green Bay Packers to be angry and focused on revenge as they win easily.

Falcons 31 Broncos 20

The Atlanta Falcons are coming off their best game after beating the Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night. They have won two of three for interim coach Raheem Morris and have taken great strides on defense. The Denver Broncos made a miracle comeback against the Chargers last week, the Chargers being the only team to cough up more leads than the Falcons. Playing in the early window will not easy for Denver, as Matt Ryan has a big game to get the win for Atlanta.

Seahawks 27 Bills 17

Since their 4-0 start, the Buffalo Bills have sputtered, losing to the Titans and Chiefs, while recording lackluster wins against the Jets and Patriots. The Jets and Patriots are the two worst offenses in the NFL, and each had their chance to beat Buffalo. The Seattle Seahawks always manage to play close games and usually win as their only blemish is an overtime loss in Arizona. The Seahawks should be able to soar to victory as they have won their two previous eastern early games in 2020.

Ravens 26 Colts 17

The Indianapolis Colts are sitting strong at 5-2, but there is trouble is knocking on the ceiling, and the roof could be about to cave in. The next four games will tell the story of the Colts’ season. It starts with the Baltimore Ravens, who come in off a gut-wrenching loss to the archrival Steelers. Lamar Jackson had a bad game last week. He needs to bounce back in Indianapolis. The Ravens defense will cause problems for Phillip Rivers; this will make it easier for Lamar to have a better game.

Texans 30 Jaguars 10

The Jacksonville Jaguars are in dire straits as they have lost six straight games since winning the season opener. The Houston Texans are also 1-6, with their lone win coming in Houston against the Jaguars. The Jaguars will be without quarterback Gardner Minshew who has a hand injury. Jake Luton will be under center for Jacksonville, a sixth-round pick out of Oregon State. The Beavers did not win many games with Luton; the Jaguars will also lose. The good news it could help the Jaguars land Trevor Lawrence by getting the first overall pick.

Chiefs 37 Panthers 16

The Carolina Panthers are coming off an ugly loss to the Falcons, while the Kansas City Chiefs did not need to break a sweat in their win against the Jets. The Chiefs have the weapons, the firepower, and a good enough defense to keep Teddy Bridgewater under wraps. Look for Patrick Mahomes to have a big day as the Chiefs get another easy win at Arrowhead Stadium.

Vikings 30 Lions 16

The Minnesota Vikings had their best game of the season last week, beating the Packers at Lambeau Field as Dalvin Cook had the best game of his career. The Detroit Lions may not have Matthew Stafford, who has been sent into quarantine due to possible contact with someone who has COVID-19. Stafford will have to test negative over the next four days to be allowed to play. Even if Stafford plays, it could be hard for the Lions to win as the Vikings will carry the momentum from Green Bay to victory.

Titans 24 Bears 20

A pair of teams with two straight losses, looking to get their season back on track. The Titans just had a flat performance against the Bengals last week, while the Bears lost in overtime against the Saints. The Bears played well in their loss at home, but there has to be a sense they don’t have the offense that is good enough to win games like this. Look for Derrick Henry to lead the way as the Titans get the win at home.

Washington 20 Giants 16

Another barn burner in the NFC East. Washington got their second divisional win two weeks ago against the Cowboys. In the Meadowlands a week earlier, the WTFs lost by one point against the New York Giants. To date, it is the only win by the Giants in 2020. Monday Night was a microcosm of the Giants’ season as they lost the game by two points to the Buccaneers. Washington’s defense has played well most of the season. They will smother the Giants and get the win at home to inch closer to first place.

Raiders 31 Chargers 20

Had this been a normal season, the Los Angeles Chargers would be dealing with a road game at SoFi Stadium, as the Las Vegas Raiders have a larger following in the City of Angels. The Chargers have had a maddening season at 2-6, as they have blown leads in several games. Justin Herbert has played terrific football but is 1-6 as a starter. The Las Vegas Raiders have their ups and downs in their first season in Sin City, but after a strong win in Cleveland appear to be trending in the right direction.

Cardinals 24 Dolphins 13

Tua Tagovailoa made his first start last week. He did not play great, but he did not need a great game as the Miami Dolphins defense and special teams carried the team to victory over the Rams. The Arizona Cardinals have played well this season as they had an overtime win over the Seahawks in their last game two weeks ago. Miami has issues at running back as Myles Gaskin will be out the next three weeks with an ankle injury. This will be a hard game for Miami to win as they have climbed into contention at 4-3. The Cardinals are where the Dolphins hope to be next season.

Steelers 47 Cowboys 0

This one is not hard to figure out. The Pittsburgh Steelers are the last unbeaten team in the NFL, while the Dallas Cowboys are two plays away from 0-8. The Cowboys’ defense has been an embarrassment while the offense has fallen apart due to injury. The Cowboys will be starting their fourth quarterback in five weeks as Ben DiNucci is being benched in favor of Garret Gilbert or Cooper Rush. This could be one of the ugliest games of the season.

Buccaneers 27 Saints 21

The winner of this game will leave as the top team in the NFC. The two quarterbacks come into the game with the most touchdowns in NFL history. Tom Brady holds the lead by one over Drew Brees. The Saints beat the Buccaneers in the season opener. Over the last few weeks, Brady has begun to find his groove for Tampa. Look for the Buccaneers to sail for victory as the two legendary quarterbacks continue to battle for history. Don’t be shocked if there is a third meeting in the playoffs.

Patriots 13 Jets 9

This may be the last best chance for the New York Jets to win a game in 2020. At 0-8, they have been non-competitive most of the season. They have the worst offense in the NFL and are the only team that has not reached 100 points on the season. The New England Patriots offense has nearly been as bad, as Cam Newton has played terrible football since his return from COVID. A win by the Jets will piss everyone off a Jets fans dreaming of Trevor Lawrence will have their hopes crushed while Bill Belichick may not allow Cam Newton on the flight home.
