2004 World Series
Red Sox in 7
After coming back from 3-0 down to beat the Yankees it will be hard to imagine the Boston Red Sox blowing it in the World Series. Like the New York Rangers in the NHL 10 years ago the way they won the East the curse was broken heading into the Finals. However like the Rangers the Red Sox will have moments of anxiety as the series will go the full 7 games as both the St. Louis Cardinals and the Red Sox have a history of playing in 7-game World Series. The Cardinals have reached the 7th Game 10 times including the that last 7 World Series they played in, while the Red Sox have gone to a 7th game in the last 4 World Series they were in which they all lost, including twice to the Cardinals in 1946 and 1967. However after they beat the Yankees the whole dynamic has changed these are not the same Sox that have choked in October’s past and thus will end the curse on Halloween and win their first Championship in 86years. Look for big series from Scott Rolen and Albert Pujols on the Cardinals as most games will be slugfest while Johnny Damon and World Series MVP David Ortiz will provide the punch for the Red Sox.
